Welcome, dear friend, to another cozy creation in the heart of the Shire!
Today, we’ll craft an adorable frog and mushroom duo, perfect for adding a bit of whimsical charm to your car! This cozy little frog and mushroom crochet accessory will do the trick. This delightful duo is not just a cute decoration but also an enchanting way to bring a touch of nature and hobbit-like magic to your daily drives. Let’s get started!
Materials Needed:
- Crochet Thread: Use green and white thread for the frog and red and white for the mushroom.
- Crochet Hook: 1.75 mm or the size suitable for your chosen thread.
- Polyester Stuffing: To make your frog and mushroom plump and cuddly.
- Yarn Needle: For sewing pieces together and weaving in ends.
- Scissors: To snip your thread.
Abbreviations:
- SC: Single Crochet
- MR: Magic Ring
Stitches to Know:
- Magic Ring: The starting technique for crocheting in the round. Create an adjustable loop, crochet stitches into it, and pull the loop tight to close the circle, leaving no hole in the center.
- Single Crochet: A basic crochet stitch. Insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over, pull through, yarn over again, and pull through both loops on the hook. This creates a tight and sturdy stitch.
- Increase: Add extra stitches to make your work wider. Crochet two stitches in the same stitch of the previous round.
- Decrease: Narrow your work by crocheting two stitches together. Insert your hook into the first stitch, yarn over, pull through, insert into the next stitch, yarn over, pull through, yarn over again, and pull through all loops on the hook.
- Puff Stitch: Insert your hook into the next stitch, pulling up a loop as if to create a single crochet. Repeat two more times without completing the stitch. Slip Stitch to close the puff.
- Slip Stitch: Insert hook into your stitch, grab the yarn, and pull it through. You should have two loops on your hook. Using the first loop on your hook, pull the loop through the loop closest to the end of your hook. This makes a slip stitch and is used to close and finish off a project in most cases.
